Seattle Shakespeare Company
With the plays of William Shakespeare at its core, Seattle Shakespeare Company engages audiences, artists, and the community in classical drama through vital, immediate and intimate live performances and dynamic outreach programs. The company offers 200 performances and nearly 100 educational opportunities each year through four branches of programming: an indoor season of five productions; two free outdoor summer productions in regional parks; extensive education programs; and state-wide touring productions. These programs reach across barriers of income, geography, and education to bring Shakespeare’s plays and classical theater to more than 50,000 individuals each year.
Seattle Shakespeare Company will present the touring productions of Romeo and Juliet and The Taming of The Shrew directed by Erin Murray. The company will provide related educational activities, including, workshops, post-show talkbacks, and a study guide. They anticipate reaching 65 schools from Washington.
